Families situation during lent season can be portrait as Empty plates, tearful eyes and praising lips. People are financially poor but spiritually they are very rich. Without complaining of not having food in their plate they keep fasting, participate in worship and prayer. They didn’t care about the different kinds of food in their plate but they always seek the spiritual blessings.
Embracing the essence of Lent, LFTN extend support to marginalized communities including brick-kiln workers, daily wagers, sole earners, street vendors, widows, and orphans. Beyond providing sustenance, our efforts aim to uplift spirits and foster a sense of shared humanity during challenging times.
Addressing Rainy Season Challenges: Tackling Seasonal Unemployment and Infrastructure Damage
Our main target community is the bonded laborers of brick kilns. Their misery increases because of heavy rains. They don’t find any work; rain demolishes their houses without any savings, and with no income source, they have to beg for food or take further loans from their masters. This way, the burden of debt increases on them, and they find themselves stuck in never-ending slavery. Many infants and young children lose their lives due to malnutrition as they easily contract viral diseases due to their weakened immune systems.
LFTN address the impact of heavy downpours on communities, offering relief that includes food supplies, hygiene items, and medical assistance. Our support is tailored to combat seasonal unemployment and infrastructure damage, ensuring those in need receive essential aid.
In the holy season of Christmas, many brick-kiln workers lost their source of earning due to the interruption of brick-kiln operations caused by heavy fog and smog during the winter season. People cried for food and their basic needs. Because many families didn’t find any work because of the lack of resources to provide food for their families.
Through our Christmas Food Distribution program, we share warmth and care with vulnerable groups. This initiative aims to provide nourishment for both body and soul, fostering connections and solidarity within communities.
Join us in spreading hope and joy during the holiday season through acts of kindness and compassion.
